Are you passionate about translating legal requirements into operational guidelines and understandable policy statements and enabling business units to meet regulatory expectations within and mitigate the risks of Financial Crime? Are you eager to make a real impact?

Saxo Bank is seeking new colleagues to join our Financial Crime Prevention organisation!

About the role(s): The position, located at Saxo’s Headquarters in Hellerup, sits within the Financial Crime Prevention (“FCP”) Group-Wide Risk Assessment & Policies team, which is part of the broader FCP organization in 1st Line of Defence.

The team is responsible for coordinating, drafting and maintaining Saxo Bank’s Group-Wide policies and Group-Wide Risk Assessment (“GWRA”). This includes setting out an effective Financial Crime Prevention Policy Framework based on the Group-Wide Risk Assessment to ensure Saxo Bank complies with relevant laws, regulations and guidelines.

The Policy Framework as such forms part of the foundation of the Group’s Financial Crime Prevention risk management efforts and serves as the “risk-based constitution” of the Group by setting out the overall strategy as well as operational principles and Group-Wide requirements for the prevention and mitigation of Financial Crime related risks.

As part of this, the team is also responsible for ensuring timely implementation of the new EU AML package by July 2027.

Responsibilities

Depending on your qualifications and motivation, your responsibilities within the team may include the following:

  • Supporting Saxo Bank’s AML Responsible Person and Board of Directors in setting out and drafting the Group’s overall Financial Crime Prevention strategy and risk appetite at Policy level.
  • Supporting Saxo Bank’s AML Responsible Person and Board of Management in operationalizing the Group’s strategy by setting out and drafting requirements, principles and guidelines at Policy level.
  • Identifying, interpreting and translating relevant laws and guidelines into understandable risk-based operational requirements and Policy statements.
  • Coordinating and engaging with other relevant functions such as 2LoD as well as branches and subsidiaries to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Coordinating and engaging with business lines, control functions and other Financial Crime Prevention teams to ensure and monitor compliance with all policies.
  • Reviewing, understanding and applying the Group-Wide Risk Assessment when coordinating, drafting and maintaining Saxo Bank’s Group-Wide policies.
  • As a delegate of the AML Responsible Person of Saxo Bank, approving key business procedures and controls to ensure adequate risk mitigation and compliance with the Financial Crime Prevention Policy Framework.
  • Facilitating and supporting internal training and communication efforts related to the Financial Crime Prevention Policy Framework, including to senior management, business lines and colleagues within other Financial Crime Prevention teams.
  • Maintaining internal governance documentation related to the Financial Crime Policy Framework, including the processes of drafting and maintaining policies or approving procedures and controls as a delegate of the AML Responsible Person.
  • Supporting the FCP organization and the Group in maintaining a comprehensive risk and compliance culture, integrating risk insights into decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborating across Saxo to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and enabling the development and enhancement of policies, procedures and controls.

Your Profile

  • Legal degree (LL.M. or similar) or other relevant qualifications.
  • Familiarity with applicable local regulatory requirements, e.g. AML legislation or Sanctions Regulations is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Excellent writing skills being capable of interpreting and translating laws and regulations into clear, concise and understandable policy statements.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial insight, paired with a dedication to ongoing development in risk and compliance practices.
  • Possess sharp analytical skills and a solution-driven mindset, with clear and persuasive communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage a variety of tasks, including both one-time assignments and recurring responsibilities.
  • Effectively influence outcomes, build connections across diverse teams, and nurture a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
