As the Undergraduate Clinical Placement Coordinator, you will have a unique opportunity to liaise with students, faculty, and the Malek School of Nursing Professions clinical partners. This pivotal role not only coordinates and places undergraduate nursing students in diverse clinical settings but also serves as a bridge between our institution and partnering agency coordinators. ● Status: Full-time, Fixed

● Division: Academic Affairs

● Location: Main Campus, hybrid-remote

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Manage day-to-day operations of clinical education in the undergraduate nursing programs

● Obtain and confirm graduate clinical placements to ensure optimal student experiences

● Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator overseeing graduate clinical placements to support and

cross-cover clinical placement activities across all programs

● Oversee and maintain compliance records for clinical sites and preceptors in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards

● Ensure students meet all requirements for clinical clearance, including background checks and

immunization records.

● Foster positive relationships with all partnering agency coordinators to achieve high-quality placements

● Develop and update essential affiliation agreements with clinical agencies

● Strengthen the network of current and prospective clinical preceptors by networking with leaders at

healthcare organizations and with potential preceptors

● Facilitate the collection and use of data for continuous quality improvement, such as satisfaction

surveys and other outcome data

● Collaborate with other administrative staff members at the school of nursing and assist with

administrative duties within the school of nursing

● Coordinate with various departments, such as Student Health Services/University Wellness, to ensure student readiness for clinical placements

● Maintain clinical education information systems, such as Complio, Typhon, and InPlace.

● Collaborate with faculty and staff to address any clinical concerns arising with students and manage student absences in the clinical setting

● Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide onboarding and support for clinical preceptors and maintain an updated Preceptor Manual and other onboarding materials

QUALIFICATIONS

● Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

● Experience: 1 to 3 years of program coordination, project management, or equivalent experience;

experience in Higher Education is a plus.

● Licenses or Certifications: Registered Nurse (R.N) preferred; related licensed healthcare certification would be considered

● Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel; familiarity with Google Suite (Google Drive,

Google Docs, Google Sheets)

● Familiarity with Typhon, InPlace, and/or Complio software is a plus.

● Knowledge of medical terminology and terms used in clinical settings.

● Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and work collaboratively.
