We are looking for a Sales Director to join the team in Melbourne to drive Franklin Templeton’s retail business in Australia. The individual will be responsible for establishing, growing and maintaining working relationships with the organisation’s distribution partners, and be responsible for positioning our investment products to generate sales.  Relationships with distribution partners will be developed and grown through proactive sales presentations, regular sales calls and the communication of investment insights.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners to meet sales budgets as set by the business

  • Develop and implement sales strategies with Private Wealth firms, IFAs, Investment Consultants to grow the retail business

  • Conduct a high level of ongoing contact with new and existing financial planning firms in Victoria through one-on-one appointments, Microsoft Teams, telephone and email

  • Present on Franklin Templeton investment solutions to financial planners

  • Represent Franklin Templeton through attendance at industry events and conferences

  • Some interstate travel may be required for client meetings

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Post Graduate finance qualification preferred

  • At least 10 years of sales or service experience

  • Strong knowledge of financial services industry

  • Strong knowledge of funds management products and key competitors

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft business desktop applications

  • Existing strong relationships with financial advisers, licensee management, and platforms.

  • Relationships with family offices, private wealth firms, and investment consultants.

  • Team player

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to deliver strong sales presentations

  • Ability to work without supervision and manage time and workload effectively

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, team environment

  • Strong sales process including ability to run a sales pipeline and client segmentation

  • Ability to effectively manage expenses
