Position Summary...

Shape the future of healthcare with Walmart! We’re looking for a Director, Healthcare Research Operations, to join our team at the Walmart Healthcare Research Institute (WHRI). In this role, you’ll help transform how clinical trials are delivered. Expanding access, accelerating progress, and ensuring that patients who’ve been historically overlooked finally have a voice in advancing science and medicine.  You'll report to the Senior Director of Research Operations & Regulatory Controls and work on-site at our offices in Bentonville, AR.

What you'll do...

What You'll Do: 
  • Provide strategic oversight and operational leadership to research projects. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on project budgets, timelines, and resource needs. 
  • Manage stakeholder relationships in a highly matrixed environment, fostering collaboration across teams and with external partners. 
  • Oversee and communicate changes to study budgets and timelines, building consensus for implementation. 
  • Share best practices in healthcare research with team members to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Promote a customer-centric environment and champion continuous learning and adaptability. 
What You'll Bring: 
  • 5+ years in healthcare research operations. 
  • Strong strategic planning, regulatory knowledge, budgeting, and resource management skills. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a matrixed environment. 
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and continuous learning. 
  • Experience in talent development, mentorship, and workforce planning is a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related area and 15 years’ experience in global matrix drug development research and operational strategies.
Prior work experience in project/program management, including risk assessment, timeline and budget management, and contingency planning.
Prior work experience leading cross-functional matrix teams.
