The Red Hat OpenShift Engineering team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer with Computer Science background and experience in Go or one other object oriented programming language to join our product engineering team.
What you will do:
● Develop features and bug fixes in Cluster API, Cluster API providers and HyperShift. ● Work with Quality Engineering on test plans for the code you create and with the Documentation team to ensure good coverage for the features and fixes you work on
● Participate in peer code reviews
● Participate in architectural discussions of system designs, programming interfaces, and inter-dependencies of control plane, operators, CI, etc., both in the Cluster API upstream communities and the HyperShift project
● Collaborate with other engineering teams in OpenShift for components that are managed by HyperShift in Hosted Control Planes and with engineering teams that build Hosted Control Planes support for different on premise platforms
● Troubleshoot, brainstorm, design and deliver Hosted Control Plane issues and fixes to important internal and external customers.
What you will bring
● Understanding of Linux operating system and scripting languages
● Knowledge of at least one of Go, Python, C, C++, Rust, Java, or another object oriented programming language
● Knowledge building and deploying container-based applications
