The M&A Business Analyst supports mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and new facility openings by delivering comprehensive business and IT analysis. This role collaborates with leaders, functional teams, and IT partners to document requirements, plan integration activities, define milestones, and ensure operational readiness. The analyst also contributes to major initiatives at existing sites by applying consistent analysis and delivery practices. Through structured execution and cross-functional coordination, the M&A Business Analyst helps ensure new and acquired operations are effectively established, integrated, and aligned with organizational goals.
Major Responsibilities
Partner with business, functional, and IT stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and define business and service requirements that shape M&A and facility opening initiatives and ensure delivery of expected business outcomes.
Lead requirements planning and validation activities, including scope definition, dependency identification, and timeline alignment across business users and delivery teams.
Review, analyze, and document timing, readiness, and operational requirements, ensuring alignment with integration milestones and Day 1 / post-close objectives.
Collaborate with solution partners to shape and communicate recommended solutions, including presenting options, impacts, and trade-offs to project teams and stakeholders.
Identify, document, and track deviations, risks, and constraints related to standards, timelines, or integration assumptions; support governance forums by clearly articulating risk implications.
Facilitate risk acceptance and decision documentation, including capturing Senior Leadership approval for accepted risks and deviations.
Provide analysis, input, and review of Transition Services Agreements (TSA), including service scope, dependencies, and exit timelines to support successful transitions.
Contribute to and review executive-level summaries and materials, translating complex information into clear insights to support informed decision-making.
Support post-close verification activities, including validation of data, systems, and asset transfers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and operational readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience. Certification / License
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, and external consultants to recommend solutions
Prior experience working with IT technical solution implementations.
Experience with gathering requirements and enforcing best practices.
Prior Experience coordinating and leading technical teams
Ability to map business process flows and journey maps
Ability to analyze and organize data to resolve problems and identify risks and/or improvements
Prior experience working on M&A integrations and/or standing up production facilities Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
Ability to successfully engage in multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent problem-solving skills and techniques
Ability to act as a liaison between capability team and business stakeholders · Ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions
Ability to understand the perspective of the business and end users and apply that understanding to solution proposals
Ability to utilize IT Best Practices and IT tools related to implementation, and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Business Analyst Certificate or similar certifications
Experience in writing stories in an agile tool such as Jira or DevOps
Experience with defining project timelines
Experience with resource time and availability
Knowledge of IT Best Practices · Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
