JLL - Transaction Analyst

What this job involves:

As a Transaction Analyst at JLL, you'll serve as a critical operational backbone for our brokerage and advisory teams, ensuring seamless execution of commercial real estate transactions from initiation through closing. You'll manage the administrative and analytical workflows that support leasing and sales activities, maintaining accurate databases of active deals, pipeline opportunities, and transaction comparables. Your role combines meticulous data management with market research and financial analysis, providing exposure to diverse transaction types and property sectors that will build your expertise in commercial real estate.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Maintain comprehensive administrative inventory of active transactions and pursuit opportunities, tracking key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple concurrent deals
  • Manage and update the customer relationship management (CRM) system with accurate client information, property details, transaction activity, and pipeline data to support business intelligence
  • Conduct market research and compile statistics on local commercial real estate fundamentals including vacancy rates, rental rates, absorption trends, and competitive property inventories
  • Prepare detailed comparable analyses for leasing and sales transactions, gathering data on recent deals, property specifications, and market conditions to support valuation and negotiation strategies
  • Build financial models and cash flow analyses for property transactions, calculating returns, tenant improvement costs, lease economics, and investment metrics
  • Support the development of pitch materials, market reports, and client presentations by conducting research, creating charts and graphics, and synthesizing market data into compelling narratives
  • Prepare risk portfolio indexes for landlords and building-specific risk assessments by analyzing tenant credit profiles, lease expiration schedules, and concentration metrics
  • Coordinate with research teams and brokerage professionals to fulfill market information requests, complete property surveys, and gather ownership and tenant intelligence
  • Liaise with internal real estate professionals to provide administrative and analytical support, ensuring timely completion of daily, weekly, and quarterly deliverables that advance transaction objectives

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate, transaction coordination, financial analysis, or related professional role
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel including financial modeling, data manipulation, and advanced formula functions
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate transaction processes, lease structures, and property fundamentals
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to data integrity and quality control across all deliverables
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact professionally with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Experience with CRM systems and database management, ensuring consistent data entry and reporting standards

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with commercial real estate databases such as CoStar, Real Capital Analytics, Reis, or similar market intelligence platforms
  • Previous experience supporting brokerage teams in office, industrial, retail, or other commercial property sectors
  • Knowledge of lease administration, transaction documentation, and closing processes in commercial real estate
  • Proficiency with data visualization and presentation tools including Power BI, Tableau, or advanced PowerPoint capabilities
  • Understanding of financial statement analysis and tenant credit evaluation methodologies
  • Experience with Argus Enterprise or similar real estate financial modeling software
  • Coursework or professional development in commercial real estate, finance, or related disciplines demonstrating commitment to career growth in the industry
