WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • The Operations Rotational Analyst Program is a two-year program that provides new analysts with the opportunity to rotate across Operations departments.
  • Analysts play a critical role in supporting daily functions, managing projects, and mitigating key financial, operational, regulatory and reputational risks.
  • Additionally, analysts are exposed to a multitude of businesses, clients, and internal RBC departments, while learning a wide array of technical Operations skills.
  • The rotational program includes working in two or more of the following areas: Broker Dealer Operations, Securities Operations, Derivatives Operations, Commodities Operations, Expense Analytics & Control, Bank Operations, Regulatory Operations, and/or Risk & Control Management.

  • In addition to rotating across these departments, analysts are provided the opportunity to manage a strategic project in partnership with the Operations Engineering (Change Management) department, gaining experience in program and project management as well as driving initiatives from strategy through execution.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Supporting functions across the trade lifecycle including trade allocation, trade affirmation, confirmation, clearing, settlement, securities lending and asset servicing functions
  • Researching and troubleshooting risks and issues by partnering with areas outside of Operations
  • Partnering with internal and external clients on trading and banking initiatives
  • Documenting and analyzing current state processes and assisting in the redesign of procedures, processes and controls
  • Participating in change initiatives to improve business process management capabilities
  • Analyzing the impact of regulatory and industry changes on the firm and identifying appropriate implementation activities
  • Analyzing key performance and risk indicators to provide management with a clear view into the overall health of Operations
  • Other such duties, responsibilities and authority as may be reasonably required.
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a university undergraduate degree program
  • Must graduate prior to start of Analyst program
