Role Overview
The Planner (Demand & Supply) is responsible for leading integrated, end‑to‑end supply chain planning across demand, supply, and materials. As the organization transitions from separate demand and supply roles to a unified planning model, this role requires a broad planner skillset capable of managing both finished goods and subcomponent‑level planning.
The role develops mid‑to‑long‑range demand outlooks and optimized supply strategies to support large‑scale infrastructure, network hardware, and AI‑driven deployments. The Planner partners closely with Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, and cross‑functional teams to drive operational excellence, informed trade‑off decisions, and scalable planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Planning & Forecasting
Partner with Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, and Commodity Planning teams to develop mid‑to‑long‑term demand plans and forecasts, incorporating dynamic demand signals and new product introduction (NPI) stages.
Develop and manage optimized supply plans across server racks, network hardware, data center construction, and compute and storage components.
Collaborate with internal teams and external third‑party partners, including regular coordination with Asia‑based stakeholders, to model production capacity, evaluate material constraints, and make allocation and trade‑off decisions in constrained environments.
Build forecasting models that incorporate cost optimization, network deployment requirements, AI strategies, and network topology.
Design scenario‑based and what‑if planning models using planning software to manage the end‑to‑end supply chain.
Operational Excellence & Execution
Identify cost‑reduction opportunities, including excess and obsolescence mitigation, inventory optimization, and design‑for‑manufacturing initiatives at the rack and commodity levels.
Propose safety stock strategies and adjustments based on supply chain risk assessments.
Utilize and enhance planning tools and systems (enterprise planning platforms and internal tools) to improve automation, efficiency, and data accuracy.
Develop and implement clear‑to‑build (CTB) tools to manage commodities across different stages of server rack and infrastructure production.
Define, track, and automate key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting to support decision‑making and risk identification.
Lead and drive the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate demand outlooks, supply commitments, and planning risks across cross‑functional teams and leadership stakeholders.
Build and maintain technical forecasting models for network hardware, partnering with Network Engineering teams to evaluate options and demand trade‑offs.
Independently manage planning initiatives in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business (operations, supply chain, finance, economics), engineering, or supply chain management.
4+ years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, materials planning, inventory planning, or related supply chain functions.
Experience developing demand forecasts and supply plans for complex hardware or infrastructure environments.
Experience designing and using advanced forecasting models, predictive analytics, and demand‑sensing techniques within ERP or planning systems.
Strong data and analytics skills, including dynamic modeling using spreadsheet and database tools.
Experience driving or supporting the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or S&OP process.
Proven ability to communicate insights and recommendations and manage work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
10 or more years of comprehensive supply chain planning experience.
Experience supporting hyper‑scale or large‑scale technology environments.
Detailed knowledge of network hardware architecture and related technologies.
Experience with solver‑based or advanced optimization systems for demand and supply analytics.
Experience developing statistical or stochastic forecasting models (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations).
Experience with master data management or planning bill‑of‑materials (BOM) governance.
Strong attention to detail, bias for action, and ability to translate complex problems into clear, actionable solutions.
