The ideal candidate for this position is sold out to the mission of promoting trails, cycling, and the trades, and is excited to achieve the primary goal of increasing awareness of the C-TEC programs and subsequently helping increase enrollment in all programs by at least 10% every year. This position will report to the Executive Director of the Trails Trade School and construction technology division, but will also work closely with the program directors and others in each area. This position will also meet weekly with NWACC’s marketing department. 50% of this position will be marketing, and 50% of the position will be outreach. The ideal candidate for this position has experience creating social media, graphics, photo, video, and copy in an entrepreneurial or sales setting and is now excited to turn those gifts into recruitment focused branding for cycling, trails, and construction technician community college programming. This position will assume leadership for all marketing efforts in the division and will be the point of contact for all outreach activities. This position will require some evening and weekend events. This innovative thought leader will be adept at evaluating the needs of the consumer market, and will understand how and where to acquire knowledge about consumer trends and will execute marketing strategies to support cycling and technician education efforts, including credit and non-credit programming. This is a 3-year, grant funded provisional position. If you are enthusiastic to learn, open to collaboration, and eager to evangelize the vision of our programming.

Inbound Marketing

  • Create 12 free resources each month to drive leads, subscribers, awareness, and/or other important metrics (whitepapers, infographics, guides, templates, etc.).
  • Grow our subscriber base by providing regular, helpful content that’s aligned with their needs and interests.

 

Social Media

  • Build and manage the Trails and Trades social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.
  • Work to reshare partner posts and build contacts.
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about the cycling and trails industries, both from existing leads and students/customers as well as from brand new audiences.
  • Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success.
  • Work alongside other marketers and content marketers to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals.
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from NWACC’s social network presence.
  • Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target audience.
  • Track, measure, and analyze all initiatives to report on social media ROI.

 

Outreach

  • Connect with influential media outlets and journalists to place stories about program news and other initiatives.
  • Attend recruitment events and other outreach events designed to encourage enrollment and lead to program sustainability.
  • Assist with event planning, including working with vendors, event coordinators, and design teams for on-site collateral.
  • Serve as point of contact for outreach and recruitment events, to include tours.
  • Oversee and lead efforts with social media interns.  

 

Knowledge

  • Know the key areas of marketing (SEO, social media, content marketing, email marketing, PPC and SEM).
  • Know how to plan, create, develop, implement, and analyze a marketing strategy.
  • Know project management methodology and utilize project management software such as Asana.
  • Know how to collaborate to lead efforts to use CRM software.
  • Know enough HTML and programming languages (e.g. CSS, Ruby, JavaScript, PHP etc) and can-do basic coding to maintain the aforementioned in order to help run the division’s Payment Portal (e.g. Touchnet Marketplace).

 

Skills

  • Use camera, video, and video editing tools to create asset library of engaging content.
  • Use marketing measurement tools and make detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations, with emphasis on market research data and analytics.
  • Demonstrate skills of social presence and brand advocacy in the community. Speak and write effectively with emphasis on developing professional relationships and presenting marketing messages.
  • Demonstrate strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrate skill in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content.
  • Demonstrate skill in using a computer, camera, video, editing, Adobe, and modern office suite software.

Rate of pay $46,150 annualized

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in marketing, social media management, or outreach, ideally in a recruitment, entrepreneurial, or sales-driven environment.
  • Marketing Skills: Proven ability to create engaging content (social media, graphics, video, photo, and copywriting) for diverse audiences and platforms.
  • Social Media Proficiency: Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) with a focus on engagement and growth.
  • Design Skills: Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar software for creating promotional materials.
  • Event Management: Experience assisting in or leading event planning, including outreach and recruitment events.
  • Tech Savvy: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and content management systems (e.g., CRM, Touchnet Marketplace) for maintaining web content and payment portals.
  • Data Analytics: Familiarity with tracking and measuring social media performance, using tools like Google Analytics to evaluate marketing ROI.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships and represent the program publicly.
  • Project Management: Basic knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana) and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Other job-related education and/or experience may replace some or all of these basic qualifications, excluding certification or licensure requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with cycling, trails, or trade programs is a plus.
  • Grant-Funded Project Experience: Experience working in a grant-funded position or program would be beneficial.
