Position Overview 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Architect/Analyst to join our team in the Chief Technology Office, supporting the Business Product Manager in driving value realization, and business problem definition and technical POCs for our Discover Product Line. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and a solid understanding of value realization frameworks. 

Core Responsibilities

GenAI & AI Systems Development

• Design, build, and optimize GenAI solutions leveraging Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, including chunking, embedding, and similarity search strategies.

• Experiment with retrieval strategies such as information retrieval, nearest-neighbor search, and knowledge graphs to augment language models.

• Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy through experimentation and fine-tuning.

• Implement automated testing, monitoring, and continuous evaluation to ensure the reliability and accuracy of AI systems.

• Stay current with emerging AI/ML advancements and translate them into product capabilities.

Software Engineering & DevSecOps

• Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to modern software engineering practices.

• Utilize DevSecOps tools for code deployment, versioning, and CI/CD processes.

• Manage and optimize containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

• Support development and management of SQL/NoSQL databases, ensuring performance and data integrity.

System & Infrastructure Architecture

• Architect and implement scalable, secure infrastructure on AWS and integrated OpenSearch/Vector DBs for hybrid search solutions.

• Lead the design of end-to-end pipelines, including ingestion, enrichment, and vectorization for semantic search using LLMs.

• Ensure architectural decisions align with industry standards, security practices, and long-term scalability.

Technical Product & Value Realization

• Partner with product managers to gather, refine, and prioritize technical requirements aligned with business goals.

• Apply value realization frameworks to assess product impact and guide feature enhancements.

• Translate complex technical needs into actionable requirements through stakeholder engagement and Design Thinking workshops.

• Use tools like JIRA for tracking, issue management, and reporting progress.

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate across cross-functional teams including data engineers, scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Facilitate communication between technical and business domains, enabling consensus and transparency.

• Prepare and deliver technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate insights, architecture, and project status.

• Contribute to team Agile ceremonies and ensure progress on prioritized features.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. 

• Experience: 

• Proven experience as a Technical Analyst, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. 

• Familiarity with value realization frameworks and methodologies. 

• Strong technical knowledge, particularly in technical product management and software development processes. 

• Experience with requirement gathering and documentation in a technical context. 

• Certifications: 

• Design Thinking certification is a plus. 

• Product Ownership and Product Management certification is a plus. 

• Skills: 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a technical focus. 

• Excellent organization skills 

• Strong experience with Scrum tools and team structure is a plus 

• Strong experience with Jira is a plus 

• Strong experience with ETL tools, data modeling, APIs, Python 3.9+ (or other languages), virtual environments (venv), dependency management, Pandas, NumPy, use of IDEs, and CI/CD is a plus but not required 

• Ability to handle multiple high-priority items 

• Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to research solutions independently 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

• Proficiency in project management tools, particularly JIRA. 

• Proven experience with AWS cloud managed-services, infrastructure, and architecture (e.g., Lambda, EC2, SNS, SQS, RDS, S3, etc.). 

• Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaS) using Terraform and CloudFormation. 

• Knowledge or interest in SQL and NoSQL database management to support the solution design and development process. 

• Proven ability to implement CI/CD best practices and manage branching strategies in Git. 

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of applications. 

• Attention to detail in documentation, particularly in relation to SDLC processes. 

• Proficient in using Jira for managing and tracking tasks and Confluence for designing and documenting solutions. 

• Overall positive outlook and willingness to learn and collaborate on new and exciting projects.
