The hourly pay rate for this position is $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, this varies depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Who We're Looking For

Join our incredible team at American Animal Hospital as the next great step in your career. We are looking to add a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, venipuncture, restraint, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.

American Animal Hospital is a 3-doctor hospital open from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 9 am - 1 pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays. We aim to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent quality medicine and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our awesome staff!

Requirements:
Registered Veterinary Technician, the license must be current
• 3+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
• Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
• Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
• Placing IV catheters
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
• TPR
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
• Excellent client communication/education
