We are creating innovative ad-tech solutions to optimize the ad monetization and experience on eBay. Our goal is to create a valuable experience for both buyers and sellers, while also driving performance for advertisers. To that end, we are innovating rapidly in the ad-tech space and there is no shortage of new challenges for motivated individuals. In this role, you will work closely with designers, product managers and other engineers (iOS, Android, frontend, backend, machine learning) to revolutionize the advertising space for eBay and beyond.

You’ll be working on a variety of the services, tools and components and will be actively involved in all aspects of development. We’re a very collaborative team, we highly value initiative, enthusiasm and passion for building high-quality software. The problems we are solving are complex, so resourcefulness, desire to learn and openness to change are a must. We work in an agile environment with emphasis on developer empowerment and teamwork.
Design and build high-performing, reliable solutions for high-throughput, distributed systems using a variety of third-party and eBay internal libraries and frameworks
Integrate closely w/ colleagues in different functional groups and remote offices
Communicate effectively within your team and across teams
Contribute to technical conversations and debates, and decide upon approaches and tools to utilize
Balance strong ownership and teamwork
Research, innovate, deliver and grow
BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 8+ years work experience or MS with 6-8 years of relevant experience
Experience developing Android applications & commercial software with Java and Kotlin
Experience with Jetpack Compose
Experience with Android Studio, GIT, Jira, profilers, Gradle and debuggers
Experience integrating with web services & using HTTP, TCP/IP and databases
Experience working with GraphQL
Experience with Unit-testing
Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms
Code samples from private github repos, side projects, and open source project contributions is a plus
