Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Principal Rendering Engineer to join the development of a new IP.

Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining!

As a member of the Engineering department, you’ll be responsible for rendering development. We’re looking for someone who comes to the table with new insights, but has the pragmatism required to ship a video game.

You’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.

You’ll help us by

  • Work with the engine team to develop cutting edge rendering technology.

  • Work closely with the content team to understand the desired visual results.

  • Write and maintain robust, high-quality code which meets performance goals given the challenging technical constraints of the target platforms.

  • Analyze, optimize, and improve existing rendering pathways and content creator workflows.

  • Contribute ideas for features and improvements as the engine evolves.

  • Communicate and educate fellow developers about implemented features and rendering technologies in general.

  • Research and develop real-time rendering techniques and features.

  • Stay up today with graphics papers and technology.

You’re awesome because you have

  • 5-7+ years of experience in real-time rendering programming.

  • 1 shipped product working as a senior rendering engineer.

  • Strong 3D math skills and low-level engine experience.

  • Strong understanding in modern 3D graphics APIs.

  • Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills.

  • Solid understanding of modern-day GPU hardware and typical performance bottlenecks.

  • Experience writing and optimizing GPU shaders.

  • Deep knowledge of C++ programming and practices.

  • Understanding of multi-threaded programming.

Bonus points for…

  • Experience with animation, audio, or game physics technology.

  • Experience with game networking techniques.

  • Experience with multi-platform development, including PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

  • Working in and extending an established code base.

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles
