In the role of Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist, you will be a vital part of our veterinary clinic, utilizing your core skills in veterinary experience, animal handling, and veterinary terminology to provide exceptional care to our furry patients. Your premium skills in animal husbandry, aseptic technique, and laboratory experience will be instrumental in supporting critical care procedures and ensuring the well-being of animals under our care. With relevant skills in dog training and pet grooming, you will also contribute to enhancing the overall experience for our clients and their beloved pets. Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome clients and their pets to the veterinary clinic
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns
- Maintain accurate records of client information and pet medical history
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various tasks as needed
- Handle financial transactions, including processing payments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but will train the right candidate
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care and aseptic technique is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used for scheduling appointments and managing client information

*The starting pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
