These are laborer positions needed seasonally by the Sports Division of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. Qualified civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.

What is the compensation?

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending upon skill level and experience). Payment will be direct deposit.

What will I do?

  • Help keep our parks clean, welcoming, and ready for the community by maintaining restrooms and public spaces.

  • Take pride in outdoor maintenance tasks such as edging, trimming, leaf blowing, and pavilion cleanup.

  • Support exciting tournaments and field rentals by assisting with event setup and on-site needs.

  • Work alongside a supportive crew and lend a hand wherever it’s needed to keep operations running smoothly.

What do I need to apply?

  • Hands-on experience, training, or practical know-how that shows you can successfully handle the duties of the role.

  • A valid, lawful driver’s license and the ability to travel between sites as needed.

  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to be part of a team that serves the community.

What is the schedule and duration of the position?

Schedule varies Monday through Sunday and will be determined by supervisor. Must be flexible to work some weekends with tournaments, special events, or preventative maintenance, as directed. These positions are expected to run from approximately April 1 through November 1, 2026.

What are the physical/environmental factors?

This work requires strenuous physical labor; walking; bending; reaching; lifting (up to 50 lbs.); and exposure to adverse weather conditions and some chemicals. Applicants must have sufficient physical strength and agility to perform the work.

                                                                              

What is the selection process?

This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days). Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
