Role Definition
We have an exciting opportunity for a high performing person to join our team in North America.  Our team of procurement professionals secure and manage capacity at our supply chain partners for Large Electric Power division packaged Gensets. 

The new addition is both strategic with a focus on future demand and securing capacity with partners across the US and ROW.  It is also executing whether that be working with our customers and business partners to deliver the build plan or supporting our suppliers as they ramp up and begin working with us at Cat.

Engaging with our global partners this role is in place to ensure we have secured capacity with suppliers who can work to Caterpillar standards, deliver on time and with an excellent quality product.

The person will be a self-driven, highly motivated individual, they must be able to work of their own initiative.   Experience in Gensets, Engines, Power systems would be advantageous.  Other key experience would be commercial negotiations, with a focus on contracts.  Supply Chain planning with SOP, Supplier development would also be desirable.  This role is supported by a great team of legal, business resources and engineering professionals. 

The person will be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and must have a logical mindset. 

Responsibilities

  • Establish strategies and planning methodologies that support demand growth over the next 5-10 years, this role will be focused on the longer term planning aspects of Supply Chain management.

  • Identifying, defining, and implementing integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.

  • Developing, implementing, and managing complex supply chain streams with global reach

  • Management of the commercial aspects of securing capacity as well as being able to lead studies into the most suitable options to meet customer demand

  • Establishing effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.

  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.

  • Developing and analyzing data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.

  • Managing relationships and processes with suppliers to ensure adequate product supply to meet inventory strategies. Providing leadership for new supplier selection.
