Job Description

The Editorial and Creative Specialist under unit supervision, prepares, coordinates, and creates print and online media for the Strategic Partnerships & Communications department. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships and Communications; this position is located on the Fort Worth campus with occasional travel to alternate locations at the University’s discretion.

Work hours are Mon-Fri; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or as work requirements indicate; which requires occasional work beyond normal business hours, weekends, and holidays; this is an on-site position located in Fort Worth, Texas with hybrid work options for the ideal candidate.

Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as point of contact for unit-based clients.

  • Reviews and approves art materials, copy materials, and proofs of printed copies. Reviews illustrative material.

  • Confers with unit-based clients to determine job specifications.

  • Formulates basic layout and ensures conformity with Graphic Identity Standards.

  • Maintains website.

  • Maintains Graphic Identity Standards, University Publications Guidelines, and Social Media Guidelines.

  • Creates graphic design projects, prints, advertisements and assists with social media electronic communications.

  • Provides photography and video services.

  • Maintains media files for publications or presentations. Oversees photoshoots and print sessions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of related experience

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to generate imaginative solutions.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others while also maintaining the ability to work independently on projects; Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of graphic design, photography, web design, and social media.

  • Planning and organizational skills.

  • Supervisory skills.

Commensurate with experience

Salary Range

The target base annual salary range is $44,000 to $55,550.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
