GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Under the direction of the Human Resources (HR) Systems Architect, this position is responsible for maintaining the performance of the College’s HR systems, primarily Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), to support HR and College objectives. This position works in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to maintain an exceptional employee experience with HR systems. Responsible for supporting and optimizing HR systems through troubleshooting, analysis, researching new functionality and implementing system solutions to support the strategic direction of HR. Assists in providing guidance and support to users of HR systems. This position is a member of the HR System Administration Team which is responsible for managing a broad portfolio of HR applications, integrations, and reports delivered primarily through Workday HCM.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure and support Workday Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Recruiting, Learning and Talent and Performance.

  • Provide Tier III support for technical issues related to Workday; acting as the escalation point for process or configuration issues.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements by reconfiguring existing configuration and deploying new features.

  • Stay updated on Workday functional enhancements and recommend appropriate changes, ensuring successful implementation of bi-annual Workday releases. Configure and support the bi-annual Workday upgrade processes, including evaluating and testing new functionality.

  • Continuously seek and improve process efficiencies to reduce administrative effort for end users and functional team.

  • Consults as the system expert with business partners and end users to find solutions to current problems.

  • Maintain the integrity of the Workday system, ensuring compliance and alignment with business requirements.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for break/fix and develop appropriate action plans.

  • Draft and revise Workday HR documentation based on new and enhanced system functionality and requirements.

  • Performs workflow analysis and document process changes and improvements based on business development decisions.

  • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from internal customers and stakeholders to develop system modifications, enhancements, and new strategies.

  • Build and support Workday reports using various Workday reporting tools.

  • Acquires in-depth knowledge of the College’s HR operations to identify opportunities for improving internal processes and driving efficiencies and provide in depth analysis to end users.

  • Participate in interactive design sessions, providing best practices and examples to solve business problems.

  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of systems, integration dependencies, and system dependencies, including job aids, training manuals, and video guides.

  • Collaborate with campus HR teams to solve problems, using business judgement and resources.

  • Develop partnerships with other Ivy Tech Workday analysts, users, and administrators.

  • Research, collaborate, and contribute to Workday community user groups.

  • Develop and provide training to functional users on new features and functionalities in Workday.

  • Performs as a named support contact with Workday - managing communications with Workday Support.

  • Provide functional support of technical integrations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of an Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.

  • Workday certification required or must be obtained within the first year of employment.

  • Minimum 3 years Workday system support and administration experience required.

  • Minimum 3 years of professional HR experience required.

  • Must demonstrate a sound knowledge of HR disciplines and processes and have significant experience in HR System Administration and Support.

  • Must demonstrate confidence and ability to make routine decisions and challenge stakeholders appropriately in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

  • An investigative nature, a desire to problem solve and think critically required.

  • Must be able to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to analyze and document processes, procedures, etc.

  • Must demonstrate a strong foundation in customer service mentality with excellent communication skills.
