About the Role:
The CrowdStrike Malware Research Center (MRC) is at the core of Falcon’s malware detection and response capabilities. The team has a focus on understanding the threat landscape and sets the target for what Falcon should be identifying and preventing. Additionally, MRC is responsible for understanding our capabilities and mapping how well our machine learning and behavioral protection capabilities are doing against those threats. Where there is a gap, MRC takes action to improve our detection stance and improve our overall protection story. MRC works across CrowdStrike to ensure we are on target and provide the best protection for our customers.


What You'll Do:

  •  Assist in developing tools, scripts, and automation solutions to streamline repetitive malware analysis tasks.

  •  Contribute to the automation roadmap by helping to define and prioritize improvements.

  •  Develop solutions in user mode to support analysis and automation efforts.

  •  Collaborate with Threat Researchers to understand their needs and translate them into actionable automation features.

  • Gain experience with software debugging and code maintenance for analysis tools.

  •  Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure quality and reliability of automation solutions.


What You'll Need:

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent education/training program.

  • Experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go, C, Rust), with a strong desire to develop software solutions.

  • Comfortable programming on at least one of the following operating systems: Windows, Linux, or macOS.

  • Basic understanding of security methodologies, technologies, and best practices.

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to clearly convey technical concepts.

  •  Experience with software debugging.

  •  Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.

  •  Prior experience or interest in tool development for security-related tasks
