The AI Product Design Engineer (f/m/d) plays a key role in executing and leading global development projects focused on advanced computational methods. The position contributes to strengthening and scaling advanced AI, data-driven, and simulation-based methodologies across the organization and a variety of products, enabling measurable efficiency, quality, and innovation gains. The role combines technical execution with technical leadership, close collaboration with global stakeholders, and active contribution to method development and capability building. The ideal candidate will also contribute to the development of innovative solutions for product development in key strategic areas.
Execute and technically lead global projects in the field of Advanced AI and machine learning methods, as well as data-driven modeling and simulation-based approaches to enhance product quality and accelerate design processes
Design, implement, and maintain advanced AI solutions using state-of-the-art methods, whilst ensuring high code quality through testing, documentation and version control
Contribute to the standardization and industrialization of computational and AI-based methods, supporting the transfer into production environments
Work closely with cross-functional, international teams, communicate findings and best practices within the organization
Continuously build and maintain deep expertise in relevant computational, AI and data science domains, as well as product, process and material know-how
Education: MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Data Sience or related field
Experience: Strong experience (2+ years) in at least two of the following areas: Finite Element Analysis (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS), topology optimization methods and AI tools (e.g. AI Agents), applied materials engineering or material selection for manufacturable component design
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and familiarity with APIs for engineering software integration and experience in AI automation coding, simulation tools, and CAE tools
Collaboration: Eagerness to participate in a global team and present to stakeholders
