Job Summary**
The Automation Jr. Engineer will support the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems at Jabil. This role involves assisting senior engineers in optimizing production processes, troubleshooting equipment, and contributing to innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and quality.
Job Responsibilities**
* Assist in the design, development, and testing of automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
* Support the installation, configuration, and commissioning of new automation equipment and systems.
* Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to automated machinery, robotics, PLCs, and other control systems.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including schematics, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, maintenance, quality) to identify automation opportunities and implement improvements.
* Perform routine maintenance and calibration on automation equipment as directed.
* Learn and apply industry best practices and safety standards in automation engineering.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production efficiency and reducing downtime.
* Assist in data collection and analysis to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
* Basic understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
* Familiarity with industrial automation components such as sensors, actuators, motors, and robotics.
* Knowledge of control systems and electrical schematics.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
* Prior internship or project experience in automation or manufacturing is beneficial.
