The Risk and Controls Analyst will serve as the primary risk support for line(s) of business within the Finance organization supporting the Payments and U.S. Bank Europe Finance organizations.
The Risk and Controls Analyst partners with their assigned Line(s) of Business, other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals, and RCA Shared Services to create, implement, maintain, review and oversee an effective risk management framework. This includes reviewing the design and performance of controls and, when necessary, advising on and implementing control enhancements.
Participates in Business Line control enhancement projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human errors. Identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate. Serves as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.
Reviews risks associated with projects such as new or expanded products, new technologies, new third-party relationships, and strategic initiatives. The Risk and Controls Analyst is expected to participate in projects to ensure adequate due diligence was performed and risk addressed prior to completion. The successful candidate will partner collaboratively across the Payments and U.S. Bank Europe business lines, Finance Risk Management, Internal and External Auditors, to create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework.
The role works across risk disciplines to identify and implement new policies, enhanced procedures, and best practices. The role will perform risk assessments to identify undocumented risks and control gaps and inform solutions that minimize issues and losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. The candidate will work to improve our processes for identification of control breakdown and will build appropriate responses and communication to escalate risks as appropriate.
The role will maintain and enhance the Corporate Treasury risk inventory in accordance with Corporate Polices, Regulatory standards, and industry best practices. Inventory management includes:
Performing Process Risk Assessment activities throughout the supported business lines
Engaging with Risk Shared Services to identify, document, and support review, credible challenge, and QA functions
Perform ongoing process monitoring and self-assessment activities to ensure proper change management in all risk inventories
Support Internal/External Audit requests and Regulatory Exam requests
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than six years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
Working knowledge of applicable control frameworks including operational risk, financial risk, and reporting risk (Sarbanes Oxley)
Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills
Act as a liaison to the company’s internal and external auditors
Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing risks
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and Archer eGRC
Applicable professional certifications preferred including CIA, CPA, CISA
Undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting, Business, or other related field
Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
NOTE: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00 - $136,400.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
