Purpose: Toolmakers are responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining high-precision injection and blow mold components used in production. This role requires strong machining skills, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to hold tight tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Construct, refurbish, and repair mold components to precise tolerances
Disassemble, evaluate, troubleshoot, and reassemble injection and blow molds
Diagnose mold performance issues and recommend corrective solutions
Perform preventive maintenance and tool improvements to extend mold life
Set up and operate manual and CNC equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, etc.)
Work with equipment such as Okuma, Mori-Seiki, Hurco, Studer, CMM and similar platforms
Machine components from raw stock to print specifications
Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances
Interpret tooling blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documentation
Identify opportunities to improve tooling performance and efficiency
Recommend and implement process improvements
Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and modifications
Ensure all work meets internal quality standards and customer specifications
Maintain an organized and clean work area
Support daily toolroom operations and collaborate with production teams

Qualifications, Skills, Experience (Required):
High school diploma or GED
Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
Experience operating manual and/or CNC machining equipment
Ability to use precision measuring instruments
Ability to push/pull up to 75 lbs (minimum 10 times per shift)
Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift
Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness
Qualifications, Skills, Experience (Preferred):
Journeyman Toolmaker license
Injection mold experience
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience holding tight tolerances in high-precision environments

Additional Information:
This is a full time, fully on-site position, with either first or second shift availability depending on the specific toolmaker position being filled.
The pay range for this role is $24-$36 an hour, and is entirely dependent on education, experience, journeyman license possession, and/or other relevant experience.
