Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems located in Palmdale, California, has an opening for a Principal Structural Analysis Engineer. This role is assigned to a 4/10 2nd shift schedule. Typical hours are Monday - Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am.
Essential Functions:
Metallic and Composite Structural Analysis Engineer – Position requires experience in metallic structural analysis methods and documentation, detailed analysis procedures, load paths, load distribution, sizing, fittings/fasteners/joints/splices, acoustics/vibration familiarity, structural integrity plan, design criteria, stability, crippling, durability analysis and finite element modeling of structure. Desired skills include familiarity with layout sizing, and structural integrity evaluations.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications include a Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace structural analysis or MS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 3 years of experience in Aerospace structural analysis
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience performing structural analysis on the F35 Program, and familiar with the Lockheed Martin tools such as IMAT, IDAT, and PDM.
Experience in finite element analysis/modeling techniques, including manipulation of large finite element models.
