The Opportunity

This Fund Propositions Sr. Manager is accountable for the overall Fund Propositions Strategy and Fund portfolio management journey for new and existing customers. Lead new fund launches, enhancement, and rationalization of existing fund range, in order to support savings & investment product propositions as well as achievement of the Company’s strategic targets

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the fund propositions portfolio, including launching new funds, recommending new fund strategies, and enhancing or rationalizing the existing fund range.
  • Drive segment-based, customer-centric fund propositions to address different customer goals, needs, and investment risk profiles.
  • Propose fund and portfolio solutions to grow the savings and investments categories through partnering  with Manulife Investment Management and Trust Corporation.
  • Develop the overall fund portfolio strategy for single premium and regular premium variable life products, including managing the customer journey from solution/fund offer to monitoring.
  • Recommend fund allocation or portfolio management strategies for specific target segments, for both new and existing customers.
  • Develop the investment and fund education and content program for distributors and customers to drive better transparency of fund performance, enhance customer and distributor understanding of funds and investment-linked offerings, and improve product/fund suitability to customer profiles.
  • Accountable for the implementation of fund development and fund review governance by acting as the secretariat and driving content for the Unit-Linked Fund Committee, in collaboration with MIMTC.
  • Regularly review fund performance to ensure the competitiveness of fund propositions and returns compared to peer funds.
  • Regularly review fund management fees with the Pricing team to align with financial objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with channels and bancassurance partners to drive channel-specific fund propositions and develop various sales enablers, including fund playbooks and tools applicable to different partners and segments.
  • Work with the Product Implementation team to ensure that product/fund or fund management features can be delivered as planned.
  • Closely monitor updates and changes in financial markets, including but not limited to industry trends, competitor movements, market opportunities and threats, and specific client segments, to identify potential business opportunities and adjust and improve fund positioning accordingly.
  • Act as a resource speaker for distributor and customer events.

What we are looking for

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in life insurance experience or fund development/ asset management, product development and management. Experience in trust, fund analysis, fund management or fund distribution strategy an advantage.
  • Experience in a strategy-oriented role, or product line/business line ownership role is a must
  • Possess in-depth understanding of insurance and investment products, financial need analysis, sales process and industry developments
  • Excellent knowledge of retail financial markets and wealth management products.
  • Excellent public communication skills with relevant experience in conducting large-audience forums/talks on financial planning and investment topics
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong drive and proven ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel and make optimal use of resources
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
