About you and this Role

We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student (d/f/m), to support our Dow Construction Chemicals business unit by conducting an internship project in biobased additives in cement-based mortars for our location in Bomlitz, Germany.

Dow is offering great career opportunities in a global and international environment.
The department that will welcome you is the global competence center at Dow Construction Chemicals for additives and binders used as performance ingredients in drymix mortars. The group develops new cellulose ethers, redispersible powders and latex binders for the construction industry. They also carry out practical application-oriented research projects involving Dow Construction Chemicals’ global customer base.

Project description

Dow Construction Chemicals is exploring new biobased additives for mortars. We would like to offer intern position to support our biobased material development for construction applications. The tasks include developing experimental plans for biopolymer formulations and evaluating their performance in selected construction application.

In their DCC project an intern develops and learns about laboratory scale formulation and performance test methods for cement-based mortars. Design of experiment (DOE) on new biobased additive composition and cement-based mortar formulations will be planed/designed in close cooperation with their supervisor. The intern has also ample opportunity to improve their working experience through planning own experiments based on initial outcomes of DOE lab experiments.
