Position Description:
Builds automation pipelines using DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins. Defines and implements appropriate testing frameworks and applies standard methodologies, using JAVA, Python, and Spring Boot. Crafts new solutions and re-platforms legacy applications within Cloud-based architectures -- AWS and Azure. Builds efficient database processes using PL/SQL Stored Procedures containing Extract Transform Load (ETL) functionality. Creates Windows batch scripts and develops complex workflows for ETL processing, using Informatica PowerCenter. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application-level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) analyzing and designing payroll domain Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to integrate financial data between multiple data sources.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) analyzing and designing payroll domain Application Programing Interfaces (APIs) to integrate financial data between multiple data sources.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing micro-services using Java, Spring Boot, or Hibernate, in a Cloud-based SaaS environment hosted on AWS; and integrating the developed microservices with internal platforms for enterprise-scale solutions.
DE designing and implementing relational database solutions, using MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server on-Cloud; and developing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data persistence and high-performance transaction processing.
DE building and deploying containerized Java applications, using Docker or Kubernetes; and automating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git in a modern DevOps infrastructure.
DE conducting performance and integration testing of Java-based APIs, using Karate, Scala, or Cucumber in a distributed cloud environment; and monitoring performance trends using tools -- Wavefront, DataDog, or Splunk for continuous optimization.
