The eFX strats team sits at the intersection of trading, quantitative research, and technology to provide continuous, competitive liquidity to our clients, globally. Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our eFX Strats team in Mumbai. This position requires a strong quantitative background, being able to rapidly master new knowledge and skills and the ability to drive projects independently while communicating effectively with senior management and trading desks. Team management experience is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
Manage the eFX Strats team based in Mumbai, understand management’s requirements and appropriately distribute the work and supervise deliveries
Regular interactions with global team members (LN, HK, NY, SG)
Quantitative Modelling & Research
Analyse large financial datasets to provide insights and analytics to the desk (client analytics, model monitoring, pricing optimisation, etc.)
Create tools to assist decision making and increase efficiency in trading
Algorithmic Pricing/Execution Development
Improve, support and maintain pricing and hedging models and algorithms
Acquire knowledge and help support tools and systems used by the desk (risk systems, ECN integration, etc.)
Ensure robust on-call coverage and production stability across owned systems
Technology & Codebase Ownership
Support, maintain and improve desk’s research and production codebase in Python/KDB and Java
Enforce best practices around production-ready code, including version control, automated testing, documentation, and reproducibility
Cross-functional Stakeholder Communication
Liaise with control functions, providing responses to their enquiries (model ongoing monitoring, pricing issues, etc)
Required Qualifications
Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field).
Excellent programming skills in Python.
Solid experience analysing large datasets (KDB/q, Pandas, Spark, SnowFlake, etc.).
Hands-on experience developing research prototypes as well as production-quality code (testing frameworks, performance monitoring, etc.).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) and operating within DevOps environments to deploy and maintain code.
Knowledge of financial markets and instruments: liquidity dynamics, FX market microstructure, market making, electronic trading, etc.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proven track record of independent project management.
Excellent communication skills and experience within a front-office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of KDB/q and Java is a plus.
Team management experience is desirable.
Prior experience in Machine Learning and AI is advantageous.
Experience with real-time systems.
Familiarity with electronic trading platforms (EBS, Reuters, FastMatch).
