This position will be to assist in the administration of transportation support services within assigned plants, product divisions, branches, and distribution centers. To perform routine activities aimed at achieving quality requirements, cost-effective transportation alternatives, and customer service.
Workstream description:
The Logistics and Execution (LEX) workstream is focused on optimizing the logistics department's processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce waste. This includes North American and global tasks, with the goal of improving customer satisfaction and avoiding extra costs.
You will be part of a team that includes the entire logistics department: including inbound and outbound shipments for different transportation modes (air, ocean and domestic), inventory management, customs compliance, master data, freight settlement and transportation management.
Moreover, the organization supports 3M suppliers and strategic Sourcing freight inbound Collect & Third-Party invoices

Analyze and interpret customer contracts and rates, audit invoice payment information, and file overcharge claims.
Support other departments to facilitate payment of the overcharge claims.
Follows a variety of clearly defined procedures to resolve the collect and third-party charges associated with the freight process.
Using mandatory steps to allocate the invoices and explain the most common cases of invoices and allocations issues.
Communicate with carriers and/or clients to address issues related to our audits.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
Three (3) years of equivalent work experience in Logistics, Customs (Import and Export), Returning Goods, and/or Transportation (Tracking, clearance, record, receiving), Freight Audit, and account payables in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Familiarity with the logistics and transportation industry, specifically in ocean and drayage operations.
Strong Knowledge of freight bill analysis, validation, and freight classifications. Payments, Fees and Cost and other Freight Terminology required.
Understanding of the different shipping modes and applicable rates/pricing (carrier rules tariffs, discounts).
Fully Bilingual: English and Spanish.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Customer service skills. Excellent Communication skills (oral & written)
Adaptability to change and adapt effectively in response.
The job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
Working experience with SAP (ERP applications).
Experience in auditing or managing domestic, drayage and ocean freight charges.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and optimize costs.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple audits and deadlines effectively.
Responsible for monitoring work queues for new requests.
Responsible for completing assigned tasks within SLA targets (i.e. ticket resolution, logistics execution, etc.)
Soft skills:
Individuals must be detail-oriented, self-directed, and have strong independent problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Flexibility and resiliency are inherent in the job responsibilities.
Identifies escalation trends and opportunities for process change and/or new solutions.
Assists in identifying areas to improve communications and efficiency of operations and implementing changes. Partners with clients in improving processes by recommending solutions and referrals to policies/procedures, SMEs or contracted vendors.
Assists other work group analysts in completing assigned transportation operations and analytical tasks. Also, assists work group analysts in monitoring changes to procedures at assigned locations to satisfy transportation objectives.
Technical skills:
Experience related to country of origin, import and export classification and certificate of origin.
Experience in Trade Compliance requirements for Import and Export, country of origin, INCOTERMS, HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule).
Understanding of drayage operations, including port and terminal procedures.
Knowledge of ocean freight documentation, tariffs, and pricing structures.
Ability to negotiate with carriers and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.
