Brown & Brown is seeking Commercial Lines Account Executive to join our growing team in Naperville, IL!
Reporting to the Profit Center Leader, this individual’s primary responsibility involves the servicing and managing of a designated book of business to include the production of new and renewal business, exercising independent discretion and judgment in key decisions affecting the daily operations of the client’s business.
How you will contribute:
Service and manage a designated book of business, including house accounts as it relates to marketing, claims and administration.
Establish, cultivate, and manage customer relations with client and prospective decisionmakers, as well as professional relationships with carrier partners, and internal resources throughout the organization.
Consult with clients to understand business operations, identify risk exposures, determine appropriate coverages and communicate recommendations.
Oversee all aspects of the marketing process for an account from the initial submission to the binding of coverage to include evaluating client’s risk and reviews, analyze their exposures, loss experience and current coverages and recommends appropriate products and services.
Conducts and analyzes market research to evaluate market competitiveness.
Analyze market and client information (including bid specifications and contracts) in order to develop, design, negotiate and implement creative strategies to ensure client’s risk is managed in an optimal manner.
Determine appropriate markets to be approached for new and existing accounts.
Identify and pursue account rounding and new business opportunities.
Exercise authority on behalf of client to negotiate and bind coverage with the carrier to ensure client’s risk is managed in an optimal manner.
Pursue new sale and renewal opportunities for the book where appropriate.
Obtain and analyze quotes and declinations from various insurance companies, and preparing high quality and accurate proposals for presentation
Compare and evaluate existing coverage and recommend course of action to ensure adequate coverage.
Read, interpret, and analyze construction specifications and insurance requirements and effectively communicate to client.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with insurance company underwriters and wholesale brokers, as well as producers and account managers within the office.
Document sales, prospecting information into the sales management database.
Maintain follow‑up and suspense file using current Agency Management System, documenting conversation and adhering to all other automation procedures.
Follow Agency guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Keep all participating parties fully informed of important activities regarding client accounts.
Remain current on industry trends and information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Attend client/carrier appointments outside the physical location of the office.
Other duties as assigned.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must be a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Agent; Advanced
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance coverage, standard industry forms and various insurance programs
Ability to create and enhance business relationships, must have a friendly, outgoing personality with a good work ethic and professional demeanor.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher.
Proficient knowledge in use of office equipment (including but not limited to copay machines, printers, faxes, binding machine, etc.)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to problem solve and meet deadlines.
Valid Driver’s License
Pay Range
$130,000.00 - $130,000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
