Job Description

The Role: QA Test Engineer

The Team: Market Scan, now a part of S&P Global, is a leading provider of technology and analytical solutions for the automotive industry and our software products are in very high demand with auto dealers, manufacturers, lenders and API partners.

The Impact:

We are in search of a Sr Software Engineer who will work with an awesome team of developers. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team-player. You will be a lead developer responsible for the development of new software products and enhancements to Market Scan's existing products. You should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Will provide expertise in the design, development, and operation of test automation. The QA Test Engineer will create automated tests, execute tests, documents, and communicate software testing results. The QA Test Engineer should have extensive knowledge of APIs, Databases and SQL. The focus of the QA Test Engineer will be to ensure all changes to our applications are fully tested. The QA Test Engineer will ensure test plans and test cases follow all standards and are appropriate on a project-by-project basis. The QA Engineer is responsible for using all test management tools according to standards and developing automated test scripts.

Responsibilities: 

  • Automate testing of SOAP and REST APIs using automated testing framework/tools using one or more of the following tools: Postman, and Visual Studios, SOAP APIs in JSON and XML schema.
  • Script and execute advanced Power Queries and Excel Commands.
  • Automate scripting and executing automated tests using C#, Playwright, and JavaScript. 
  • Create test cases according to standards – manual and automated, participating in Peer Reviews, and modifying test cases based on Peer Review feedback. 
  • Perform problem-solving and root-cause analysis when defects occur.
  • Flag test cases appropriate for regression suite. 

Requirements: 

  • College degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • +7 years of experience in a related role
  • Exposure to review, clean-up, and maintain existing automated scripts. 
  • experience in C# or JAVA is preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL, and SQL queries on RDBMS and Non-RDBMS respectively.
  • Experience in integrating automated test cases with CI/CD toolset. 
  • Perform testing the integration between API, UI, and Database.
  • Knowledge or experience in creating a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, or function in a team as needed. 
  • Highly adaptive and flexible to a changing environment.

    Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.  This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
