Position Overview:
Are you a passionate coder with a flair for developing outstanding web experiences? We are on the lookout for a Senior WordPress Developer to collaborate closely with our marketing team in building and maintaining a state-of-the-art, mobile-responsive website. This pivotal role will require you to leverage your skills in crafting custom PHP code and writing MySQL queries to ensure our website is not only functional but also exceptional. What You'll Do:
- Build, enhance, and optimize our marketing website using the WordPress CMS.
- Develop custom page types, taxonomy language, and menu systems based on wireframes and project specifications.
- Mentor and guide a junior WordPress developer, fostering their growth and expertise.
- Configure goals, triggers, and tracking snippets in our A/B testing tool, VWO.
- Convert designs into component-based HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Implement technical SEO best practices to boost site visibility.
- Understand and uphold UI/UX standards for seamless user interactions.
- Participate in all phases of development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
- Manage daily tasks such as CMS updates, template creation, and overall WordPress maintenance.
- Oversee the website back-end, including database management and integrations with Marketo and Salesforce.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and devise solutions.
- Regularly patch WordPress and plugins, promptly addressing any vulnerabilities.
- Conduct periodic vulnerability scans and respond to alerts.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience as a front-end developer in a fast-paced environment, specializing in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Node/NPM, Webpack, and Tailwind CSS.
- Proven ability to write custom PHP code and MySQL queries, ensuring robust back-end functionality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in business English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
- Meticulous attention to detail with a solid track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience in designing, developing, testing, and optimizing responsive websites.
- Understanding of CSS changes and their implications across platforms and browsers.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in a related field (preferred).
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient in WordPress, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, Asana and/or Jira, Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Hotjar, VWO, GSC, GTM, GA4.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and work in front of a screen for extended periods, using hands to handle tools and controls.
Travel Expectations:
- Up to 10% travel to remote sites within the United States.
