The Red Hat Ansible Business Unit is looking for an experienced industry professional, passionate about automation, to join the Ansible Product team in a senior outbound/field product management capacity. 

This person would ideally be in the Boston area or Northeastern United States.

You will need to understand the challenges of technology adoption, driving process and mindset change, and communicating the value of a strategic approach to technology implementation.  

This includes understanding how IT models are evolving, the complexities IT organizations face the practical implications of infrastructure management across datacenter, cloud and edge.

Our Outbound Product Managers actively engage with Customers, Sales and cross-portfolio teams to champion the Ansible Automation Platform GTM messaging and drive feedback into the product delivery functions.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Be a leader and advocate for automation lead change with Red Hat customers and sales teams.

  • Represent the Ansible Business Unit at Red Hat’s Executive Briefing Center.

  • Collect input from Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform customers and other internal or external stakeholders to understand market problems, opportunities, customer needs and discuss early Roadmap feedback, feature design and features gaps.

  • Research automation use cases to identify competitive areas for investment to increase the breadth of automation possibilities for Ansible Automation Platform customers. 

  • Document findings and research results and socialize them with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Formally define requirements, use cases, customer user stories for new content ideas across a broad selection of technical domains.

  • Work with Product Management, Product and Technical Marketing teams to build the overall Ansible Automation Platform Roadmap, develop positioning guides, go-to-market strategies, define success metrics and measure impact and results of new deliverables.

  • Collaborate to align strategic and tactical roadmaps with Red Hat objectives, portfolio opportunities, and peer product strategies.

  • 25% Travel requirement - possible international travel

Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience in developing Automation, Cloud or Infrastructure technologies, or 10+ years experience implementing IT Automation in one or more Enterprise IT environments

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and articulate ideas and concepts clearly with enthusiasm and clarity of direction.

  • Ability to influence from c-level business focused conversations, down to detailed technical conversations with automation engineers

  • Experience gathering and analyzing data, research and market analysis, translating this information into requirements and functional specifications to develop a long term strategy  

  • Experience moving technical programs or products from concept to completion and articulating impact using metrics, growth examples, and return on investment (ROI) 

  • Resourceful, action and detail-oriented, with high ownership experience delivering measurable impact.

  • Ability to Travel 25% (mostly in the Northeast US)

The following will be a Plus:

  • Experience of Ansible Automation implementation, architectures and adoption strategies

  • Experienced leadership/participation in large scale transformation programs.


 

The salary range for this position is $181,440.00 - $299,260.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
