Grade 2 Occupational Therapist

About the Role

Opportunity to join St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne in a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist role within the Transition Care Team. You will provide high quality occupational therapy services; supporting assessment, intervention and discharge planning.  

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver outcomes that are determined by client care plans and goals. 

Applications from current grade two occupational therapists or suitably experienced grade one occupational therapists will be considered. Relevant postgraduate qualifications would also be highly regarded.

Classifications for this position will range from VF6 – VF9 ($88,467 - $101,691 per annum, pro rata for part time)

Duties include

  • Provide high quality and evidence-based person centred care to clients admitted within the Transition Care Program

  • Work in collaboration with others by communicating client assessment and treatment outcomes effectively with other team members, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Actively participate in staff and student supervision, professional development and performance review

  • Provide clinical direction to; and contribute to the skill development of the Allied Health Assistants.

  • Develop and promote new initiatives regarding service provision.

Your Contribution

  • Consolidated skills in Occupation based assessment and treatment

  • AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist

  • Well-developed communication skills and a passion for the development of yourself, and others.

  • Commitment to providing evidence-based practice

  • Enjoyment of working in multidisciplinary teams

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a health care setting

  • Current national criminal history check or willing to obtain

About Transition Care Program

The Transition Care Program is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and State and Territories. St Vincent’s Transition Care Program is resourced to follow the client through the service system and avoid unnecessary extension of hospital admissions and/or premature admission to residential care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide short-term support and active management for older people at the interface of the acute/subacute and residential aged care sectors.
