We are seeking top technical talent to expand our global engineering team, which is currently 160 engineers across 3 sites, on track to generate over $500m of annual sales. As a Senior Systems Design Engineer, you will work with a cross-functional team to develop these innovative solutions and have an opportunity to influence not only want we build, but how we build it.
General Responsibilities
• Provides technical leadership within a cross functional team
• Working closely with customer technical and project personnel
• Handles both external and internal stakeholder requirements for new products / features / technology developments
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses
• Develops system specifications and formalized representations of solutions (for example, flow charts, models) to develop systems that meet customer needs
• Systems Architecture development with roadmaps to increase feature sets, reduce cost, pursue integration opportunities and increase quality
• Leads internal Sensata sub system design teams to refine implementation of products / features / technologies & specifications to ensure they meet stakeholder’s needs
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

Specific Responsibilities
- Systems engineering for automotive sensing product developments, including requirement engineering, system design, and analysis.
- Working closely with customers, some of the world’s biggest automotive manufacturers
- Performing the role of product owner in a cross functional agile team, working closely with sub system design teams to refine product features
- Understanding customer technical requirements and expectations, and developing/driving tyre condition assessment solutions from concept to launch
- Development of specifications and formalized representations of solutions (System architecture, flow charts, models) that meet customer needs
- Understanding ISO 26262, ASPICE and cyber security and ensuring system development in compliance with these standards
- Delivering proof-of-concept demonstrations to customers and development partners
- Algorithm development and modelling of system level behaviour for new functionality.
- Technical support for concept and business case development for new business quotations
Specific Experience / Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum of BEng degree in Electronics, Software or a related engineering discipline with 3 years + experience
- Experience/knowledge with requirements management tools (e.g. Jama, Doors)
- Experience with systems modelling, simulation & validation environment (e.g. MIL, SIL & HIL)
- Experience with system analysis tools such as Fault Tree, FMEA & FMEDA etc.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong collaboration skills that facilitate effective teamwork across multiple disciplines (like Systems, Software, Hardware, Mechanical and Verification engineers) to make sound engineering decisions
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of working in the automotive industry
- Experience and understanding of system development process to meet automotive or industrial standards (e.g. ISO 26262, ASPICE, CMMI, ISO21434)
- Use of CAN tools such as CANoe and CANdela Studio.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture or other UML tools
- Experience working in an Agile development framework as a Product Owner using Scrum methodology
- Strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate technical issues, risks, and status in both written and oral form
- Knowledge/understanding of embedded electronics and software systems
- Knowledge of requirements management
- Experience of modelling/simulation
- Experience with system design in safety/emission critical and/or regulated environments, familiarity with quality systems and leading design methodologies
