The position provides technical support for IBM z/VM operating system. Participates in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities. Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Serves as a seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as a team member and individual contributor.

Required Qualifications:

​Subject matter expert with z/VM operating system support including:

  • General z/VM configuration including network (TCP/IP and FTP)

  • General z/VM problem determination and corrective actions

  • Familiar with IBM Service Request (IBM Link)

  • Ordering and Installing maintenance/RSU (Shop Z and VM/SES).

  • Operating system version upgrades.

  • Coding and maintaining custom systems utilities and exits (REXX and CMS Pipes).

  • Building z/VM guest systems (z/OS and Linux)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience installing program products from CA, Broadcom, etc.

  • Performance and Tuning (Velocity Tools)

  • Familiarity with VM:Secure

  • Experience building and supporting Linux on Z virtual servers

  • Technical writing and process mapping

  • Assembler programming
