Job Description:
We are looking for a R&D project manager to join our HVDC team at Hitachi Energy in Sweden. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with talent team of engineers and lead R&D projects focusing on development of innovative solutions for HVDC application.
Your Responsibilities
- Set-up and execute R&D projects together with your project team in alignment with our R&D portfolio management.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates and resource plans, perform risk analysis and monitor the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets.
- Proactively work with the team to identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the implementation of new solutions. Develop risk management plans and strategies to respond to risks as they rise.
- Drive requirements analysis, pre-studies, solution development and documentation of results in the projects
- As an R&D Project Manager you will be a part of R&D Project Management Office. As a team we are all responsible to work on our processes, quality, learn from/help each other and to develop individually and as a team.
Your Background
- University degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering or similar and strong technical background within electrical power industry
- Sufficient knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to HVDC, FACTS technology, power semiconductors and voltage source converters applications
- Knowledge of power system simulations studies, and simulation tools is an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management of R&D projects related to power electron converters, high voltage electrical equipment.
- A proven track record of managing complex research and development projects from inception to completion is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches based on project requirements and constraints.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions.
- Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams in multi-site global environment.
- Fluency in English required
