Job Title: Software Engineer

The Purpose of This Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Fidelity Health Benefits Platform (FHB) team within Workplace Investing (WI). As a member of the FHB Product Development team, you will design, develop, and own scalable and resilient enterprise-grade solutions that powers FHB's platform capabilities. Using modern technology stacks and cloud-native architectures, you will build and continuously enhance systems aligning with enterprise software development practices. This role empowers you to contribute across the full development lifecycle while collaborating with multi-functional teams.

Technical

• Core Java & Spring Boot: Proficient in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services

• SQL & PostgreSQL: Skilled in writing queries and performing basic data analysis

• Cloud Exposure: Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure)

• CI/CD & DevOps: Experience using Git, Jenkins, and build pipelines

• Design Patterns: Applies standard design patterns in development

• Secure Coding: Follows secure coding practices and guidelines

• Testing: Writes unit tests using JUnit and participates in code reviews

• Problem Solving: Breaks down tasks and contributes to feature development

• Communication: Collaborates effectively within the team and with leads

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

• Exposure to the US healthcare Payor domain is preferred

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree - Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems with 2-4 years experience

• Experience in Java, REST API, Spring Framework, SQL is a must

• Experience with enterprise grade distributed application and support
