GAME ON – OLG needs you

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate to support the organization’s GAME ON strategy and work in a dynamic environment. The Performance Analyst Student will work closely with the Lottery Performance and Analytics team to support the governance, analysis, and reporting in the Lottery, Enterprise Marketing and Customer Experience Division..

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

The objectives of the analyst will include use of analytical skills to tell the story of Lottery performance data. Your insights and recommendations will be used to influence business decisions.

  • The Performance Analyst Student will report to the Senior Manager, Lottery Performance & Analytics, and work with the Lottery Performance & Analytics team to conduct analysis and create reports and dashboards

  • Retrieve and use data from a variety of sources (ex. sales reports, product profitability data, financial, operational, customer related etc.) to provide analysis and reporting solutions

  • Combine data from multiple data sources to respond to high-level business questions

  • Explore large, complex, and loosely defined datasets to develop measurement solutions, create actionable insights, and recommend opportunities for performance optimization in simple non-technical terms

  • Develop, publish, and schedule Power BI reports, develop dashboards, and define metrics that inform performance across the Lottery portfolio

  • Create standardized tools/queries to obtain relevant data from data repositories

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning quickly and applying new concepts in a practical environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking to support sound business decision-making

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable working in dynamic settings with shifting priorities and a degree of ambiguity

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Working knowledge of SQL, including writing queries to extract, join, aggregate, and validate data from multiple sources; experience working with large datasets and query optimization is an asset

  • Experience with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is considered an asset, including use of libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, dplyr, or ggplot2 to clean, transform, analyze, and visualize data; experience with automation or reproducible workflows is a plus

  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset, including building interactive dashboards, developing data models, creating DAX or calculated fields, and translating business requirements into clear, actionable insights
