Job Summary:

Provides accurate, timely, and creative solutions to end-user computer and networking problems of moderate to complex nature aimed at integrating end-users into the computing environment resulting in greater stability, availability, end-user satisfaction and productivity, cost effective operations, and alignment of information technology with business objectives.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of current technological trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of customer support standards and processes, including problem resolution, in an end-user computing environment. Knowledge of PC management and desktop lock-down process, policies, and standards and PC implementation best practices. Technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems and escalate issues appropriately. Ability to learn about new tools, technologies, and platforms. Ability to convey technical information to non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Provides services encompassing end-user infrastructure, planning, standardization and centralization of end-user computing environments, enterprise client integration, and migration to new PC technologies, deployment, and on-going management across flexible computing platforms to help simplify client infrastructure and improve end-user productivity.
  • Performs daily troubleshooting, support, loading, and maintenance for applications and specified software. Researches and identifies root causes of recurring problems or situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or correcting problem equipment, compatibility or product defect issues, or software installations, moves, and configuration changes and implements solutions or escalates problems to higher level analyst as required.
  • Installs or assists in the installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on user's premises.
  • Researches, recommends and implements changes in PC management and desktop lock-down process, policies, and standards. Implements project management planning and PC implementation best practices regarding migration to new technologies.
  • Recommends measures to leverage existing technology and the purchase and implementation of new technologies, hardware management technologies, and software to allow for better remote and systems management, reduction in costs, and improvement in quality of service.
  • Updates and inputs data as appropriate, assists user with data transfer and application design, and provides end-user training. Maintains and ensures system documentation is accurate, up to date, and in compliance with in policies and procedures.
