Job Description:

Title Staff VP AI Technology

Location:   Indianapolis, Atlanta, Mason, Virginia Beach, New York and other locations located near an Elevance open access office.

Team Scope:  Will lead and develop a team

Summary

Staff VP AI Technology is responsible for overseeing the AI strategic initiatives that optimize the value of artificial intelligence across the enterprise; enabling multiple business needs including improving service; and driving adoption of AI and analytics across enterprise.  We are filling three positions for different businesses: Commercial, GBD and Carelon.

Position Responsibilities

Staff VP AI Technology is responsible for overseeing the AI strategic initiatives that result in enabling multiple business needs including improving service; and driving adoption of AI and analytics across enterprise. Other duties performed but not limited to:

  • Ideation to execution of responsible AI product strategy, collaborating with organizations core systems including but not limited to: commercial claims, membership, provider, and product systems.  
  • Accountable for data acquisition and infrastructure setup for exploratory data analysis to determine experiments for modeling and follow up experiments. 
  • Accountable for ensuring AI experiments/models align with enterprise value priorities and are deployable.  
  • Engage with business and technical executives and other leaders/SMEs to socialize AI, model integrations, and/or model deployments. 
  • Have fiscal responsibility for IT budgets. 
  • Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things accomplished. 
  • Provides leadership in motivating teams to accomplish AI goals and objectives. 
  • Direct interdisciplinary AI teams to develop value aligned models and ensure alignment with organizational metrics.  
  • Implements the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and Information Technology organization.  
  • Coordinates project management across department & divisional line.  
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports. 
  • Create, manage, prioritize & drive execution of product roadmap pipeline that demands AI solutions using insights and recommendations
  • Work with large & complex data sets to solve wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches
  • Apply tech expertise with quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining and presentation of data to develop significant opportunities for our health care products
  • Identify and measure product success through goal setting, forecasting and monitoring key product metrics to understand trends to guide future strategies
  • Partner with cross functional matrixed structure to inform, influence, support and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Bring clarity & structure to ambiguous opportunities
  • Understand ELVH’s strategic and competitive positioning to  drive & deliver responsible AI products that are aligned with our mission working closely with world class team members
  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving AI environment where process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm
  • Ideate, influence, generate buy-in to develop compelling product strategy & vision and drive consensus across the organization

Position Requirements

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 15 years of IT leadership experience, with 8 years’ experience in large enterprises leading multiple delivery teams, large code bases, high transactional based systems, and large program leader experience ($100M+) including but not limited to business case development through final implementation; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

Payer commercial systems experience and/or solutions experience in claims, product, provider, and/or membership.

Large program leader experience ($100M+) including but not limited to business case development through final implementation; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Large Base Coding experience

Experience with Machine Learning Models and deep learning algorithms such as Convolutional Neutral Networks

Familiar with cloud-based AI services (such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform).

Experience with tools such as Docker and Kubernetes for containerization, configuration management and orchestrating deployments.

Extensive experience with Python, Java, R, C++ and/or JavaScript.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $ 192,960 to $385,920.
