About the Role

An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Better Health and Housing Program in a Senior Research Assistant capacity until June 2025.  You will be responsible for reviewing and improving the existing ‘Measurement, Evaluation and Learning Framework’ currently in operation at BHHP. 

 

Hours of work are 8 hours per fortnight with flexibility of workdaysDuties for the position include: 

  • Reviewing and improving the current BHHP MEL approach 

  • Enhancing data collection methodology, storage and use 

  • Applying project management skills to deliver improvements 

  • Work collaboratively with BHHP partner agencies 

  • Oversight and, where required, analysis of the BHHP dataset 

  

Classifications for this position will range from:

Allied Health Grade 3 Year 1-4 ($102,092 - $116,646 per annum pro rata). 

Registered Nurse Grade 4B YX11 ($113,646 per annum, pro rata).


Your Contribution

  • Allied Health or Nursing qualification and AHPRA registration

  • Demonstrated awareness of, or experience in, understanding of health service research including: secure data collection and management; human research ethical and governance requirements/reporting; stakeholder management; research and project administration and coordination 

  • Experience engaging key stakeholders in service review and improvement processes

  • Experience working in, or understanding of, the current healthcare and housing context 

  • Research or project management qualifications are desirable but not essential 

  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Better Health and Housing Program 

The Sumner House site in Fitzroy is used to support people experiencing homelessness through the Better Health and Housing Program (BHHP).  All services at the site are delivered through a partnership between the Brotherhood of St Laurence, Launch Housing and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), along with relevant government departments.  

The BHHP supports individuals with health issues who are experiencing chronic homelessness by providing an integrated health and homelessness service response for stays between 12-26 weeks. The BHHP environment will support residents to rest and recover, and address health and social issues, according to the person’s own goals.
