We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with 3+ Years of Experience to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Release & Localization Engineering team, you will prototype, develop and productionize technical solutions to release and localize the Snapchat app. Working from our Los Angeles or Palo Alto office, you will be tasked with solving interesting technical challenges in the localization domain, designing and developing cost efficient solutions.
What you’ll do:
Design, implement, and operate our most critical services used for localizing and releasing the Snapchat applications
Work cross functionally to develop robust localization test strategy and tooling
Lead the efforts for engineering best practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
Guide junior engineers on the team from design, code reviews and mentor them.
You evaluate, appropriately test, and debug your work, striving for high quality
Advocate for and apply best practices when it comes to availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Lead from the front in terms of technical design and execution.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and solve organizational level challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.
Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company.
Experience managing Large-scale microservices and distributed systems
Knowledge of ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar UI frameworks.
Knowledge of localization (l10n) and internationalization (i18n) best practices
Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to stay focused under pressure
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience as a software engineer
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Java, Go, JavaScript (and/or TypeScript), HTML, and CSS
Experience with the full localization life cycle, translation management systems, machine translation-based tools
Proven experience in software tools development, automation, and systems integration
Experience making critical decisions for complex technical issues in real-time, considering timelines and urgency
Experience working with a diverse group of engineers

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
