Grand Canyon University is seeking a Student Engagement Project Coordinator responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives aimed at enhancing student engagement and involvement within the institution. If this sounds like the job for you, apply below!

What you will do:

  • Lead the promotion of university events and initiatives by overseeing graphic design and videography projects from intake through final delivery, along with their respective teams.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple creative projects simultaneously using project management software, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for related projects, communicating timelines, expectations, approvals, and project updates with stakeholders and project owners.
  • Manage project intake, prioritization, scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow to ensure efficient execution across creative teams.
  • Track and report on project progress, timelines, resource utilization, and key performance metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Mitigate project risks, resolve escalations, and proactively manage project owner expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review creative deliverables for accuracy, quality, consistency, and compliance with GCU and Student Engagement brand standards.
  • Manage and maintain Student Engagement approval processes and creative asset libraries for graphic design and videography.
  • Oversee and coordinate videography production schedules, including meetings, video shoots, project reviews, and delivery logistics.
  • Assign, monitor, and oversee work performed by student workers, ensuring quality standards, accountability, and on-time project completion.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and support the ongoing development and performance of student workers throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain organized archives of completed marketing projects, creative assets, videography, and historical campaign materials.
  • Collect, analyze, and document project, marketing, and team performance analytics to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish, monitor, and achieve departmental performance metrics, production goals, and service-level expectations for creative operations.
  • Research emerging marketing, graphic design, videography, and marketing trends, recommending new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve creative quality and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project workflows, creative processes, documentation, and operational procedures through continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining departmental protocols, procedures, policies, and operational standards.
  • Manage assigned budgets by tracking expenses, monitoring targets, preparing proposals, and ensuring compliance with GCU purchasing, contracting, and accounting procedures.
  • Prepare reports, maintain project documentation, manage communications, and perform administrative support activities related to project and departmental operations.
  • Support the Project Manager with departmental initiatives, campus-wide programs, strategic projects, and other operational needs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Student Engagement, departmental objectives, and university priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality creative deliverables that align with established brand standards.
  • Ability to analyze project data, interpret performance metrics, and make data-informed recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using project management software such as monday.com, Microsoft Planner, Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications and creative production workflows.
  • Knowledge of graphic design, videography, digital marketing, branding, and creative project management principles.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous process improvement skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Advertising, Business Administration, Project Management, Entrepreneurial Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in marketing, creative services, project coordination, communications, event marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience coordinating projects, managing multiple priorities, or leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, leading, or coordinating student employees, interns, volunteers, or similar teams.
  • Experience working with project management software and Microsoft 365 applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, student affairs, student engagement, nonprofit organizations, or similarly mission-driven environments.
  • Experience managing graphic design, videography, photography, digital marketing, or other creative production projects.
  • Experience implementing project management methodologies, workflow optimization, or operational process improvements.
  • Experience utilizing project analytics, reporting dashboards, or performance metrics to support decision-making.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and creative asset management.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events, marketing campaigns, or campus programming.

Compensation Range: $41,500-$45,200
