Job Description:

Senior Technology Analyst, IT Investments

The Senior Technology Analyst is integral in supporting Dimensional's Investments business in EMEA. This role supports portfolio managers, traders, compliance officers and other investment professionals along with all related Portfolio Management and Trading systems. Additionally, you are responsible for supporting investment management applications and integrated solutions with a global order management system. Working with technology teams in the US, Asia-Pacific and EMEA, you are involved in supporting a 24/6 global environment. 

The EMEA based Senior Business Analyst is also responsible for providing automation solutions to global Equity Trading to increase the scalability and efficiency of trading as well as reducing risk in the investment process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Technology Analyst serves as a primary interface to Investment clients utilizing platforms, applications, and third party solutions supporting the global Investments department.  

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • Provide incident and problem resolutions support for the day-to-day activities of Dimensional’s global investment staff and ensure that new enhancements and fixes meet objectives without negatively impacting the production environment.   
  • Provide level 2 support for the batch (“start of day”) processes that supply refreshed investment data from our service providers, through the data warehouse solution (currently Eagle), into our front-office investment systems, with a focus on ensuring that any issues are fixed in time to ensure that the processes are all completed within business SLA’s   
  • Deliver operational efficiency through the use of automation and systemization. 
  • Manage the transition to operations with product development teams through established continuous integration and continuous deployment methods. 
  • Work collaboratively with global technology and data management teams to assist with establishing and monitoring KPI’s and KPO’s  
  • Participate in the implementation and support of enterprise technology upgrades, as needed.  
  • Facilitate the high-touch support demand for Front-Office business teams and collaborate with Service Center Support teams through the L1 to L2 service operations model. 
  • Provide leadership and vision through process improvement analysis with the Investments software operations team . 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND CHARACTERISTICS SUITABLE FOR THE ROLE

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and specifically investment systems technology.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and problem solve across several projects.
  • Highly skilled in working with business clients, external parties, and other technology groups (Software engineers, dev ops, and product development teams.). 
  • Experience with buy-side trading systems and customized investment applications or platforms. 
  • Prior experience supporting enterprise order management systems such as CRIMS (Charles River Investment Management System), Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM or similar.  
  • Knowledge of one or more of SQL, NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with ETL, data integration and workflow orchestration software. 
  • Experience with real-time analysis; including high visibility trading workflows. 
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills including the ability to maintain open support issue while working with a global Agile team. 
  • A working knowledge of securities settlement processes and the full lifecycle of a trade. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment without daily oversight. 
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written). 

Preferred:

  • A background performing system administration support for trade order management systems 
  • Development experience in one or more of programming languages such as C#, PowerShell, java, python, bash. 
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging architectures and or system interoperability. 
  • Working knowledge of open source monitoring and logging tools, such as Kafka, Splunk, Influx, ELK, Grafana. 
  • Automation Tools including Octopus or Ansible 
  • Technical writing and knowledge-based documentation. 
  • Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban 
  • AWS and Azure solutions experience
