Accessibility Compliance Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accessibility Compliance Program Manager to join our dynamic Accessibility team. The ideal candidate will possess strong project and program management skills, exceptional communication abilities and a passion for navigating ambiguity. This role requires expertise in Azure DevOps (ADO) and a strong bias for action and sense of ownership.  In this role, you will be a trusted, respected partner working with Product, Engineering and Design leaders working to ensure our products and services meet timelines set forth for conformance. This program will have the visibility of leaders at all levels, from senior executives to individual project teams.   As part of this program, you will be responsible for validating and reporting on products that have met compliance goals and report on and track progress on all other in scope products.   

About the Role  

In this role as an Accessibility Compliance Program Manager, you will: 

Lead key aspects of a large, highly visible, complex program while working with management at all levels to ensure digital accessibility and compliance with relevant laws and standards. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Manage communications with Single Threaded Owners and product teams by facilitating meetings, providing updated reporting and tracking requests made of the program. 
  • Own AODA Health Scorecard and Compliance Plan Reporting including governance over the fields in ADO to ensure clean data and reporting. 
  • Lead resolution of complex obstacles with leadership at all levels. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and articulate risks, trade-offs, and recommend prioritization based on a balance of business risk, needs, constraints, and impact. 
  • Collaborate with the Reporting team on ways to ensure Power BI and ADO Reporting is accurate and up to date on compliance and reported bugs display properly
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate the program framework, processes, templates, including ensuring all program related documentation is maintained and accurately kept up to date.  
  • Support collaboration across Design, Engineering, Product Management (PM), and other business teams to develop and manage end-to-end Accessibility project plans and budget, while ensuring on-time delivery within each phase. 
  • Support and execute comprehensive communication plan – includes establishing channels, meeting cadence, reporting/status updates and process with key stakeholders.  Provide key data to the Director of Accessibility and others to support Executive reporting.
  • Support a White Glove Service program including overseeing the provision of training, scripts and tracking progress for reporting. Update web content to support and promote the service and facilitation of this work with the Digital UX and Marketing teams.
  • Work with the GCO to discuss issues of scope and provide ongoing informational updates to ensure they have what they need to provide legal guidance,
  • Partner with teams to create an environment of trust by establishing a feedback loop to improve how we work. 
  • Put repeatable, scalable processes in place that result in an efficient and effective program

About You

You're a fit for the role of Accessibility Compliance Program Manager, if you have:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of successful project or program management experience 
  • Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Expert in Power BI (or equivalent applications) 
  • Expert in Azure DevOps (ADO) for project management and tracking 
  • Demonstrated execution of project management methodology 
  • Command of SDLC in waterfall and Agile projects 
  • Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and other relevant accessibility standards
  • Experience mentoring and providing guidance to team members 
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills 
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing requests simultaneously and under high pressure and tight deadlines
  • Resilient in the face of changing circumstances and unclear expectations 
  • Ability to partner effectively in a highly matrixed organization 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Project management or Agile certification (e.g. Certified ScrumMaster, Professional ScrumMaster, PMP, PMI-ACP or similar) 
  • Deep understanding of UX design principles, methodologies, and best practices. 
  • Product development, web, mobile or multi-channel experience
