Job Description Summary:

The Trauma Performance Improvement Manager is responsible for the process improvement program and patient safety for Grant Medical Center (GMC) Trauma service line, as defined by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and to ensure GMC remains verified as a Level 1 Trauma Center. This includes detailed monitoring, identification, corrective actions, and evaluation of performance improvement and patient safety processes related to trauma patients throughout the continuum of care. They are also responsible for the GMC's Trauma Program new participation in the Trauma Quality Improvement Program of the National Trauma Data Bank. Additionally, this person is responsible for the oversight of the substance abuse program and the outreach program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
Registered Nurse License for Ohio, in good standing
Field of Study: Healthcare or Business related field.
5 years of experience
Data Analysis experience

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Registered Nurse with Field of Study: health care or business related field. Highly self motivated to direct, plan and implement changes in progra.
Ability to accept and implement change,
Ability to use effective problem solving techniques to make decisions and recommendations that effectively impact care.
Possess critical thinking, analytical, teaching, coaching and research skills. Proficient with ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
Able to respond to common inquires from regulatory agencies
Able to effectively present information to public groups, staff and management; significant background in national benchmarking in trauma systems and care
Analytical mindset to support mathematical data analysis
Background in performance improvement and patient safety strategies, with skills in system management
Organized system for the collection and retrieval of complex clinical data to ensure adequate compliance with trauma care principles to demonstrate clinical competency of the program
Trauma process improvement methodology including American College of surgeons criteria for verification of a trauma program
Care of the trauma patient throughout the continuum of care including prehospital care, initial resuscitation, critical care, inpatient care and rehabilitative services
National trends and benchmarks of trauma care
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in surgical care in the trauma field, including emergency department and critical care
Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong computer data management and retrieval skills

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

ICD9 coding
Public relations or customer satisfaction background
3 to 5 years of employment at a tertiary referral center.
