Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Rotating schedule: two weeks (65%) in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and two weeks (35%) in the outpatient clinic. Includes support of intake clinics to improve access, reduce referral wait times, and help accelerate patient entry into the epilepsy surgery program.

Pay Range

$51.05 - $76.60

Position Details

· Schedule:

  • 65% Epilepsy Monitoring Unit – EMU

  • 35% outpatient clinic

· Call: May include irregular hours and/or call responsibilities

· Patient Population: Children and Adults

Essential Functions

· Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including neurologic evaluations

· Diagnose and manage epilepsy and seizure disorders in collaboration with neurology and neurosurgery teams

· Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic testing (EEG, imaging, labs)

· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management

· Provide care in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and outpatient clinics

· Support intake clinics to improve referral access and reduce wait times

· Assist in evaluation and preparation of patients for epilepsy surgery

· Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and self-management

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation

· Collaborate in a multidisciplinary, team-based care environment

Minimum Qualifications

· Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

· Current NP or PA licensure in North Carolina (or eligibility)

· Current BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in neurology, epilepsy, or acute/inpatient care

· Experience working with both pediatric and adult populations

· Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

· Strong clinical judgment and procedural competency

· Exceptional organization and time management skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

· Flexibility to perform additional duties as needed
