Paço de Arcos, Portugal (Hybrid)

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Support & Operations Engineer to join the GSOps (Global Support & Operations) team within the TransVerse Platform program. This role will be key to ensuring the stability, availability, and quality of the platform and its services across production, test, and development environments. You will be working in a multi-cultural, international team that supports mission-critical railway applications and infrastructure.

Description

  • Monitor, operate, and support the TransVerse platform environments
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and changes following ITIL best practices
  • Support product and project teams by ensuring system availability and performance
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and application-related issues, coordinating with development and architecture teams when necessary
  • Maintain documentation (runbooks, procedures, troubleshooting guides)
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and automation
  • Support installation, upgrade and maintenance of platform clusters (on-premise, cloud, and edge)
  • Participate in on-call or weekend support rotations as required
  • Travel worldwide to support local platform teams

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or platform support roles
  • Good understanding of Linux-based systems and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills and team spirit
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Keycloak, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ or Redis
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes
  • Previous experience in the railway, transport, or industrial software sectors
